WARNING: American Homeshield Corporation

A Lesson In Customer Service

Greetings All,

I have a problem with the customer service of the above company. I want to warn as many people as possible to stay away from this company, and if you are already involved call and cancel your contract and get a refund.

I have spent a month trying to get my dishwasher repaired or replaced. The problems with the dishwasher started late last year. Their customer service people and their contractors are very good at giving people the run around. My new dishwasher has been sitting in my kitchen floor for two weeks and has yet to be installed. As of now it is scheduled to be installed Monday afternoon.

I talked yesterday with a "service manager" named Ron Cook who promised he would get results and call me back the very same day with a solution to getting my dishwasher installed. I told him I was skeptical that he would call and he vowed he would call me. As you might guess he never called. This morning after I called AHS and had an email sent to him did he bother himself to call back and apologize for not calling me back. He then offered to give me a $50 certificate to waive my next repair service fee. I could almost hear the stutter in his voice when I told him I cancelled my contract already. He then tried the Repeated Apology Approach to get me to change my mind as if twelve apologies (I counted) would make months of contract violation and inconvenience go away.

Anyway this saga will definitely continue. The first link below is from a forum in Columbus Georgia, that I found when I googled "AHS Sucks". The second link is for any who have had issues with AHS. In this day and age it is easy for dissatisfied customers to step up to pressure companies with unethical and possibly illegal business practices.

After eight years of working as a customer service rep, an installer, a trainer, and a store manager for Diamond Triumph Glass, I know that the customer is not always right, but that it is my job to see that their auto glass needs are safely, and efficiently, taken care of at a fair price. That is all I ask of any company to be treated fairly. When I am not treated fairly I will do my best to make sure as many as possible know.

If you can appreciate great customer service pass this on so that poor customer service is treated fairly with a healthy dose of consumer pressure.
